How did birds and fish survive for eons if they didn't have the sense to go back to where they came from if they face sudden temperature change? That is, imo, not a plausible explanation.

Lod,
can we have your estimate of the percentage of the number of fish and birds that have died recently relative to the total global numbers?
Either your comment is ridiculous or I just don't understand your meaning.

Haven't airplanes crashed due to enterring turbulent air currents?
Can fish swim as fast as birds can fly in order to leave uncomfortable temperature waters?
You are missing my points ...
the birds I claim have been knocked out of the air caused by air turbulence caused basicly by air temperature differences
and the fish have been victims of a sort of temperature shock swimming from warm to cold waters or cold to warm waters, but also basicly caused by polar cold air moving south causing transfer of heat from sea water cooling it.

It's common knowledge that birds and probably even fish get disoriented and have flown north or south due to odd temperatures prematurely relocating for the seasons.

PS:
Okay, granted we may be speaking of a circumstance where the temperature may have been changed dramatically after the fish had already been too far into an area, but fish do have a homing instinct which may also have caused them to continue into colder waters instead of causing them to retreat imho

and admittedly I don't know much about the details of other areas like the fish that died near Brazil.

BTW,
here's the latest news concerning the magnetic pole flip-flop:
www.foxnews.com/scitech/2011/01/06/magnetic-north-pole-shifts-forces-closure-florida-airport/

It's been claimed the north and south magnetic poles will be completely reversed come 12/21/12 because our solar system as it circles the center of our galaxy every 125,000,000 years or so, also cycles up and down every 22,000 years (not sure of that data) passing through the central plane of our galaxy
and on 12/21/12 our solar system will be aligned with the the central plane of the Milky Way.

Isn't the idea of a spittoon to avoid smoking and chewing tobacco instead ? just have to make do with incense instead lol

Any opinions on the Sphinx being considerably older than the pyramids ? Anyone have any background on the credentials of the revisionists concerning this ? Not doing a term paper - just something that popped into my head.

As I have heard and read it has been subject to heavy rainfall and by that eroded in a way that can't have happened in the last 10000 years or more since the weather in egyypt hasn't been that rainy since that long. Also the head is clearly resculptured as it is too small to be the original, which was probably a lionhead.

Don't you guys recognize a Mog when you see one? The Sphinx is clearly a Moggish king, one who ruled many moggettes in his day. Of course, later human dynasties have damaged the lordly Mogking's memorial and will pay the price here on Waronline as the Mog armies crush the puny lives of the interlopers. Beware.

Interesting material. I saw a television program some time back about the weathering argument. Quite possible considering that there is a school of thought that ancient Egyptian civilization is older than the generally accepted dates. There are also gaps in the historical record which seemingly do not coincide with the archaeological record . Case in point - the Minoan Civilization is now being appreciated as being more highly advanced than earlier studies suggested , especially when compared with Heroic Greek culture which came later. I don't buy into the Atlantis business, but there are too many holes in the history of mankind to be ignored. I think we've been around a lot longer than we think. Any thoughts ?

Sorry tots it's not a subject i've got into much ..though there is a question ,in the film 'jumper' when the guy 'jumps' onto the sphinx with his deck-chair etc ....are the bricks really as big as that? ,i mean ,,you think they're quite small but in the film they are like the size of a small house each ...

anyway the next few days i cant spend much time on the internet due to limitations ,,,but new month and i can relax again ..
so sorry LOD i wont be thashing you on mental trivia for a bit lol ...as if
