Happy New Year folks
and here's a little tidbit for UB:

" www.foxnews.com/science/2013/01/10/largest-structure-in-universe-discovered/ " ...

Think that 4 billion light year diameter structure of galactic quasars was once inside your *"gravitational singularity"*?
That's about 4 billion times more difficult to believe than God said:
*"Let there be light"*.

Regardless of what they find and even if the big bang is incorrect, it will NEVER prove the accuracy of ANYTHING within the bible, that I guarantee, that includes those famous supposed first words.

Now the big bang theory can be adjusted to fit this anomaly or it can be scrapped altogether but that is what science is, inaccurate information is discarded all the time to accommodate ACTUAL, empirical and verifiable evidence. Something that no judeo-christian based religion can claim. I will stick to what is more likely and at the end of the day the big bang explanation is still more likely than some guy popping off everything in the universe so "perfectly" like so many claim and yet leaving us with the ****tiest guidebook in existence to explain it all. Right. Though I do admit that finding is completely fascinating!(I have always loved astronomy after all).

EDIT: Forgot to mention that this does not directly challenge the big bang per say but it DOES challenge the cosmological principle specifically.

Why would scientist attempt to create life from nothing? All life comes from something. What that something is can be argued but I guarantee it was not a fairy stick and a couple of words that brought us to being.

Even if they did create it it would still not be enough for you because no amount of evidence is enough for anyone who's core of understanding on how the world works involves that much faith. The sole definition of faith is simply believing even when no evidence exists... by that same loose definition you will believe what you wish REGARDLESS of the evidence. At least science follows evidence when making declarations that involve such important questions...such as, where did we come from or how we came to be. Something no religion can honestly claim to do. We can do this all day and it will never change these undeniable facts... there is nothing that proves beyond a shadow of a doubt any major declaration within the bible, there are PLENTY that were found via scientifically verifiable methods.

Ultima, you are right. There is nothing you can say that would shake my faith that God created the world, and then sent his son to save me from my sins. So, do you think belittling those who believe in God is fun?

Nebu, are you following the same thread as me? TR threw something out on this thread directed at me. How about you ask him why he has the need to put anything out there? I merely responded. He is the one who made the snark remark like he found some proof of something and mentioned that the link was for me.

I belittle no one, now if you come out and throw rocks, you should expect people to hurl boulders right back at you.

I will even make it clear, this is a rock:
"Let me know when science creates life from nothing..."

That looks like belittling to me as well. Ask yourself if what you said is in no way a challenge before coming back here and telling me I am belittling anything.

"The details escape me now, but it's something to the effect that they're trying to say that when this supposed *big bang* occurred, the known universe came into immediate existence (many Xs faster than the speed of light???) ...

the distances and ages of the farthest galaxies don't allow them to reach that far otherwise (or something like that???)
Anyway it all sounds like a fairy tale and I haven't ever believed in the *big bang*
And they still haven't explained how the ingredients that supposedly caused the *big bang* got here to cause it.

rex"

"More than just the details elude you TR. Any sort of reality eludes you and that is something you will never get regardless of what anyone tells you. The universe did not come into "immediate existence" it was at one point the same amount of mass as we have in the universe today, condensed for as of yet unknown reasons into a very small area. The big bang is just a name that stuck with it not a description of what happened. If we wish to be accurate it was more of an expansion. However, regardless of what it was it is the truth and there is no denying it. Ignorance need not worry about what reality is. If believing whatever it is you believe gets you through life then great for you. However the point is clear, a government teaching it is a government condoning it and anyone who actually cares about the well being of the students will not allow that to happen.""

UB,
you have a short convenient memory, but go back and read my posts if you don't recall that I found your comments directed at me in the first quote above quite insulting ...
You forced me to research to find evidence to verify my comments that basically the *"big bang theory"* is on shaky ground;

And I did provide evidence that according to *"inflation"* (an add on to the big bang theory (added to account for a disparity of time and distance)) the universe supposedly reached a certain state of existence virtually instantaneously.

Anyway, it seems that our 4 billion light year diameter structure of our universe also throws a wrench into the previously believed homogeneity of our universe supposedly believed caused by the *"big bang"* ...
Just thought you'd like to know UB.

That's a pretty suspect photo. It's blurry on the animal's back but the kid isn't. I call shenanigans.

The dolphin was real, though. Look! There it goes again!

Now that I'm feeling close to 100%, I just thought I'd let y'all know that this *"dophin"* sighting won't be forgotten by me even though it did almost go beyond the upper reaches of my head.

Anyway, I hope more folks start playing this great game.

PS:
Add some smaller and shorter PG games Req.

Why do they even pretend it's news? Should be called "Fox propaganda show"
