Mog,

We''re talking about the Haven Island map - and he''s already changed the terrain - I''m simply talking about adding 4 or so sections of deeper water at the bridges - which isn''t a huge job by any stretch of the imagination.

Beyond all of that - I''m really trying to encourage Coopels to make 4 player camps. I am really not suited for it - but he seems to be.

No, I don`t think you understand me, to change the underlying terrain takes making a new .bmp terrain image, getting Requiem to upload it to the editor and then placing objects on it in the map editor. Unless you meant to just move objects around to do what you suggest? If the map terrain doesn`t need to be changed, it`s easy, otherwise, hard. Take my word for it, getting Requiem to upload map terrain is a long haul job.

Lol Mog, I think Jmac means to use the 3-hex long deep water object (you know, the blue impassible equivilant of roads) to plug up the shallow water sections.

Coop, good change to the one duel map. One other thing to consider is that both players can block the other from capturing the gold mine my posting a troop 5-hexes away from it inside their section of the mountain range. This could be fine, the other player could shoot the troops, or you could put in a couple extra mountains to block this from happening. I think it is fine either way, and the way it is already would be more interesting.

ok, i put the water in the lucky island map, which should help that issue out. Since there are no pallisades that can be attacked from 4 hexes it''ll still take a person two turns to get through one pallisade whether or not they can hit from 3 hexes or 2 so that''s not much of a problem either.

Trust me Bio, that''s what i was going for on the mountain maze map. I can imagine some interesting tactics being used there including the one you spoke of.

I know Bio has some maps, but does anyone else? I''d like to look at something other than what i made.

Coop,

The deep water takes care of the only problem I see with that map - the rest are not build problems - the rest of the problems are strategy problems - and I would very much enjoy trying to work out the strategies to play that map.

Thanks for the work!

I have finally finished a complete 4-player camp map I didn`t like my old one any more, so I built a new one from scratch with slightly similar basic structure. I think I managed to make it almost perfectly radially symmetrical Well, here it is! (on map34 by the way)

Map Name: Megiddo Crater
Map Type: 4-player Campaign
Map Description:
Many years ago, a great civilization was wiped
out by a cataclysmic meteor impact. The survivors
called the resulting crater Megiddo Crater, and hastily
erected meager defences around the crater. They believed
that the forces of Hell itself were going to issue forth
from the infernal impact site.
The decendants of the survivors eventually formed
into four new kingdoms. Superstition kept most from
exploring the now-cooled crater for many years, but precious
minerals were recently found in and around the crater.
Man now destroys Man for minerals in the very pit that men
once believed they would have to combat the spawn of Hell.

Ooh, Coop, I just realized a possibly fatal flaw with your "The Majestic Valley" map. You have road objects and river objects actually on top of each other. Sure, it looks fine now, but it might not work. It happened in my "The Spine of the World" duel map, but thankfully it disabled non-critical bridges. You should re-place your rivers and roads so that the river and road objects do not physically cross, just form a + where you have River- Road| River-.

P.S. pplz, be sure to check above this post for a possible new map I just posted

Biodus,

Your above map is a thing of brilliance in my humble opinion. The resource issues between each castle is awesome - and the center is repleat with all sorts of enticements.

Excellent map - I hope it can be incorporated when Req returns!!!!

Now I feel worthy to add my effort here:

Title:
Lands of the Barbarian Kings
by TaurusRex

Description follows:
These are lands that have been over-run by barbarian tribes ...
only a handfull of barbarian kings will survive to lead their peoples to greatness,
building vast empires over the lands of the vanquished.

PS:
Requiem,
please use this large 64 castle map for an ongoing enter anytime game:

Load the data onto map12 to view the map.

Gaiyamato,
this is the suggestion forum and this that follows is the openning comment of the author of this thread:

"I was looking at the selection of maps for battles, duels, and camps. There are 9 battle maps, while only 6 camp maps and 4 duel maps. I would think camps and duels would have more of a selection and so i started making more. I''m going to post some hoping that Req will adopt some of them and also to see what other people have made should they feel like posting a map."-Coopels

I didn't post my map here because I didn't want to clutter Coop's thread with code and I think anyone with half an once of brains should have been able to deduce that to be honest.

Rex is perfectly right here. This thread was meant to collect maps so that Req could easily look into them whenever he wants. It''s my hope that he''ll start adding some sometime and i thought it would be easiest if they were all collected for him. Plus i also hoped more people would try to make maps too so we''d have a larger base that Req could choose from.

Bio: That map looks really good and would be very interesting to play on. I can only imagine the possibilities with that center terrain. Good work.

Rex,

Nice work in giving everyone a look at what could be. The insanity of that many castles/players coming and going would be something to behold. Please keep up the creative thinking - the more innovation that Req. sees, the more innovative he will be in the end.

Thanks Rex.

My only point was that he seems insistent on posting that map in every single bloody thread he can. lol.

Even though it is a very cool map.

I''ve never made a map before, but I''ve been thinking about giving it a whirl. Should I post a WIP here or make a separate topic for that? It wouldn''t have a title/description or even be complete yet. Just some fiddling around that I''d like opinions on.

Fiddle away protoman - but I think that if you are going to get those creative juices flowing that you can come up with a name and a premise to your map as well - and that both would be great! I would gladly check it out and be brutally honest with you about it.
