If we do 4 teams of 6 it would look someting like this...

H^R and aaa = Crimsondawn, CREST, harold1, Gaiyamato with Zandrade24 and 1 merc (Captain Mrogan)
D~S and t*w = Bud_Chevy, Hack & Slash Chickie, Jmcattack with 6rake6 and 2 mercs (Lossol and ? )
CoC and *-* = Coopels, Nebuchadnezer, Mog with West and 2 mercs ( DoctorFeudal and Chunky50 )
BoS and ~a~ = Lons, gueritol with Bravo 872, uncleb and 2 mercs ( ethedog and Cypher )

Mercs that are signed up but not informed me of a commitment..

I'd like 5 X 5 just to be even...

The 25th player would be a neutral player provided by me, if we do 5 of 5 crim will have to drop one.

With 4 teams of 6 each team would have 2 mercs, but with 5 of 5 I guess Bos and ~A~ would would each need three mercs.

Has anyone other than Crimsondawn recruited their mercs?

Ethedog had promised to play for me but I have not talked to him in a few days.

Bud mentioned D~S recruited one.

Just something else (thought I'd post it here):
I'm happy with 5 x just so you know.

Well I had another idea.
Instead of even teams we just make it what each clan can mange to a max of 6 per clan.
So each clan represents the best it can.

Each clan then gets Mercs if it can. First in-first served with the game.

It should all balance out, because if they see (for example) H^R with 6 players multiple clans will gang up on them.
And also at this sort of game size its unlikely clan members will be able to effectively work together.
