| Posted : Tuesday, 12 August 2008 - 10:15 Traditionally, 20 questions starts with "animal, vegetable, or mineral."
Since I don't think Mog allows this, it's best to FIRST ask "Is it alive?" This narrows it down to either mineral or animal/vegetable.
Asking "is it manmade" first has the potential to be a wasted question. If the answer is an animal or vegetable, it will NOT be manmade...but we still won't be able to conclude that it's not a mineral, because there would still be the possibility of a non man-made mineral.
If you see this before Mog answers your question, Choir, it would be wisest for the team to retract the question. I won't ask "is it alive?" yet, just in case Mog answers Choir's question first with a "Yes." Last Edited : Tuesday, 12 August 2008 - 10:16 | Choirsinger Joined 19/12/2007 Posts : 617
| Posted : Tuesday, 12 August 2008 - 13:58 you see sage, i was trying to decide which was better to ask as well, but since i'm 15, tired, lazy, and it is summer, i didn't want to think too hard, but now that you put it that way and clear it up, it makes sense to ask the question. so i changed it, thanks Last Edited : Tuesday, 12 August 2008 - 14:00 | Mog DoCJoined 5/02/2004 Posts : 14358

It is not alive.

| Posted : Tuesday, 12 August 2008 - 17:42 Really the question `Is it alive` has got the forum no further, so it is a wasted question as we do not know if it is animal, vegetable, mineral as these can all be dead
Mog has before allowed each category to be asked as an individual question in the past !!!
Sage ,you are on the right lines though, there must be the ultimate question that will exclude a `choice `each turn no matter what the answer Mog gives, thus saving question for later use. We are incumbent on a question that will encompass two of the three categories and eliminate the other! Last Edited : Tuesday, 12 August 2008 - 17:54 | Harold1 DoCJoined 21/04/2007 Posts : 1977

| Posted : Tuesday, 12 August 2008 - 18:20 that is good harold...maybe the question(not that i'm asking, i'm just saying it could be a possiblity) could be does it/did it breathe? once, again, i'm not actually asking, cause Harold pretty much has the question asked | | Harold1 DoCJoined 21/04/2007 Posts : 1977
| Posted : Tuesday, 12 August 2008 - 18:34 your question is very interesting choirsinger!!
you have to think in two ways literal and lateral ie
if literal ......leather does not breath as it is part of a `dead` animal!!!
but we wear leather shoes because leather `breath` and we do not get smelly feet.....lateral
In our last game I asked if something that could fit in your hand fitted in your trouser(pants) pocket and Sage correctly said if the item fitted in a hand, and a hand fitted in a pocket then the item must also... but was it the coca cola company who said `You have the whole world in your hands` Last Edited : Tuesday, 12 August 2008 - 18:39 | Choirsinger Joined 19/12/2007 Posts : 617
| Posted : Tuesday, 12 August 2008 - 19:17 true i suppose, but if it is a feather, a feather doesn't need water to live and neither does leather, unless you want to refer to the cow that needed water(and air). a feather needs neither air nor water to live, cause it is dead...a feather is dead right? there aren't any living cells in it are there? cause if so, then it does need water and air to live....wait, nvm, there is no blood flow in a feather so a feather isn't alive, but then what about before it was a feather? hmm....i wish i knew how to make the red confused face... | | Harold1 DoCJoined 21/04/2007 Posts : 1977

| Posted : Tuesday, 12 August 2008 - 20:21 Uhmmmmm, was there a question anywhere in that barrage of stuff? I think I was asked if it needs water to survive, or if it ever needed water to survive.
It does not need and never needed water since it isn't alive and was never alive.

| Posted : Thursday, 14 August 2008 - 01:15 Inasmuch as this item is used for a purpose, it is kind of a tool. It isn't used to make things though.
I can't be much more clear than that without giving away more than that one question deserves.
