I only confirm or deny actual questions with question marks at the end.

He was just commenting about the fact that we're puttering around without the confidence to ask any questions.

since it doesn't have a handle then it can't be a handcrank.

Would I have to pay more than $20 (US dollars) to purchase this item?

Yes, I think so. I've never priced these things though.

Are there any pocket-sized, largely produced, metallic objects with moving parts that relate to animals?

I'm kind of hoping Mog says no, then.

maybe it is a shot then? or what else is there that can be used on animals.

i don't want to ask until we are entirly sure, and if someone else asks because they are braver then me, i still won't some sorta credit cause i thought of it first...or at least wrote it down first

I doubt it's any sort of shot...a shot is vague enough that Mog wouldn't have been so specific about it's size: "barely" fit in a pocket. Shots come in small and large sizes.

I'm wondering if it's used for farm animals or other livestock...but I'm not sure I want to spend a question on it. With this being our last question other than the final guess, we may be better off ASSUMING it's used for farm animals...unless anybody can come up with a likely, non-farm animal related object that fits all the criteria?

three things come to mind here
1, a horses mouth `Bit`
2, a mouse/rat trap
3, a dogs `choke chain`
