| Posted : Thursday, 25 March 2010 - 14:07 I know I haven't stopped in for a while, so I'm very out of touch with the current state of the game.
Looks like it's seen better days.
I've been playing a lot of games these days on the Iphone that play a lot like Waronline. Similar (or better!) graphics, easy-to-learn-hard-to-master gameplay, and online play against large communities of people.
What these offer me that Waronline couldn't is the mobility. I could rarely make it back to my computer every 12 hours to take a turn, but that's not a problem when the game is on my phone.
Req, if you're still developing your game (and I hope you are, you're a great talent) I highly, highly, HIGHLY suggest enabling smartphone play. You'll reach and keep a much larger base of players if you can offer them the great gameplay you're known for on the small, portable screen.
I can't think of any aspect of Waronline that I haven't found duplicated into a smartphone game...I just haven't found one yet that put them all together into such a complete experience. Develop that, and you'll win me (and many others) back. |

| Posted : Saturday, 27 March 2010 - 00:50 Req and Mog both know me well enough to see that my intentions were to help...I played this game for what, three years? And the community helped shape me as a person. So I'm pretty loyal, just don't have time to visit often. :-P
Oh well... |

| Posted : Saturday, 27 March 2010 - 00:52 The forums have had a few post disappearances lately, it wasn't done to you intentionally, Sage, just another bug... I'm sorry. You should at least re-post the idea if not the entire wording.
It's a great idea. |

| Posted : Monday, 29 March 2010 - 06:37 I tried to play via Phone-browser, and I can login but when need to open another window - can't. So I can just look messages, but can't play. If entering a game wouldn't take to open new window, that you could play in the same window, I think game would be playable with phone browser. Could be useful on vacations. But, who would then miss the turn. :-)

| Posted : Monday, 29 March 2010 - 12:01 I think just making an app that it'd run off would be the best recourse... after all you don't tend to browse the web for games on an 3g you look up game apps. |

i wonder how that would work. can the iPhone access flash based games or does it need its own systems to run online content?
how does it handle so many units and small font stats when managing so many troops on a large battlefield? |

| Posted : Thursday, 8 April 2010 - 07:01 The Iphone or Ipod Touch do not currently support flash. I'm playing around with a game called Uniwar that looks pretty good on the Ipod, not sure what the interface is. |

| Posted : Thursday, 8 April 2010 - 16:39 Would need to recompile all the flash stuff to AIR rather than standard Flash.
And also be able to determine which one to run. I think the whole website would need to be reworked for such a small screen too. And I dont know if iPod/iPhone supports popup windows (which the game/map runs from).
i dont have an iAnything, so hard for me to tell |

| Posted : Thursday, 8 April 2010 - 17:17 yes I think you would have to make a completely new app that would work for it, you could make it similar to this game but not the same game. |
