It should be a `bait`game to give ppl a hint of what goes on here, and offer membership benifits of the full game when you pay your cash

I see no reason why the mobile game can't be the real deal... I wouldn't have delayed starting any campaigns while I went on holiday if I'd been able to play it from an iPhone...

Also, having the game usable from a mobile means you can take your turn any time of day when you have a few moments, on the bus, train canteen, bathroom...

Make WOK for phones. It's a timely idea, but not, I think, something that time should be spent on for Waronline.

Either way, one nice feature that I've found on Uniwar and Weewar which I've been playing lately is the persistent chat. I can leave a chat message for a player and its still there when they log in. A cool way to leave each other msgs.

If you add players to your My Friends page, you can send them messages easily. Otherwise you can use the find player search.

Yeah I know, just not quite as convenient as coming back to the game window and seeing a message. This is also a pain when you are playing with someone and chatting, but as soon as they leave the game window to take a turn on another game you loose your chat. I find myself typing the same comment or question over and over in the chat window.

No it is just like the chat window that we currently have in the game window, it just maintains a history of the actual chat, so if I close the window and come back later the chat dialog remains.

well, i finally got an iPhone.

so I did some research and it turns out web-browsing on iPhone/iPad doesn't support any kind of embedded object (flash, silverlight, java, etc).

and developing full-blown apps (not web-based) requires the full SDK and is Mac only. Since I have x64 based PC, this rules me out.

so the only way to make WoL or WoK playable on iPhone/iPad is to remove all traces of Flash, and go with an HTML/Javascript/CSS system for the map system.
