The first is full of raging fires, the second is full of assassins with loaded guns, and the third is full of lions that haven't eaten in three years. Which room is safest for him? 2. A woman shoots her husband. Then she holds him under water for over five minutes. Finally, she hangs him. But five minutes later they both go out together and enjoy a wonderful dinner together. How can this be? 3. What is black when you buy it, red when you use it, and gray when you throw it away ? 4. Can you name three consecutive days without using the words Wednesday, Friday, or Sunday? 5. This is an unusual paragraph. I'm curious as to just how quickly you can find out what is so unusual about it. It looks so ordinary and plain that you would think nothing was wrong with it. In fact, nothing is wrong with it! It is highly unusual though. Study it and think about it, but you still may not find anything odd. But if you work at it a bit, you might find out. Try to do so without any coaching!

| Posted : Thursday, 21 August 2008 - 14:17 Two absentminded professors are waiting at a busstop. None of them can remember what bus they are supposed to take to the university. -I remember there was a system to it, a numberserie, and that I could figure out what bus it was by the numbers of the ones passing. As the buses 72, 46 and 521 go by he suddenly says. -Oh now I remember, it is the next one. What is the number of the next bus?
(in case there are more solutions than the one I have in mind, please give a plausible explanation) Last Edited : Thursday, 21 August 2008 - 14:19 | Padro52 Joined 10/06/2006 Posts : 644
| Posted : Thursday, 21 August 2008 - 14:32 ok lets see, 72 the difference is 5, 46 the difference is 2, the difference between 72 and 46 is 26 (last 2 numbers used once) so now I geuss 31? Last Edited : Thursday, 21 August 2008 - 14:33 | LOD Joined 13/12/2001 Posts : 5703

| Posted : Thursday, 21 August 2008 - 17:08 I'll say bus 495.
The reason I say this is that you mention a number series. 72 minus 46 is 26. 521 minus 26 is 495. Any good? Last Edited : Thursday, 21 August 2008 - 17:10 | Choirsinger Joined 19/12/2007 Posts : 617
| Posted : Thursday, 21 August 2008 - 17:30 alright 7+2=9 4+6=10 5+2+1=8 9+10+8=27 bus 27? (i was going to combine the numbers to make bus 9108, but that just doesn't seem right) | | LOD Joined 13/12/2001 Posts : 5703
