Well Hwatta, i had to search long and hard to find the answer to your question, but i think i finally got it!

You must burry them in Canada next to the first Canadian muskrat that you see! Now hurry before they spoil!

I`d personally bury them on top of the dead folks. That way they have a chance of burrowing out and wreaking vengeance on those who put them there.

Unless it is a dual container thermos flask, I believe it keeps basicly liquids hot or cold by preventing the transfer of heat either to or from the respectively cold or hot liquid by means of them being contained by a glass vacuum sealed liner which is not a good conductor of heat;

So the thermos flask doesn't know ...
it just stops heat loss or gain very efficiently.

The THERMOS is a trans-dimensional hyper-stable energy retention module operating site. Of course, anything that is moved from our dimension into one of them will maintain its current energy level. Unless of course one of the denizens of the other dimension happens to want some coffe, soup, milkshake, or whatever you have chosen to store in their space temporarily.
Just be careful when you open the THERMOS...the practical jokes can be quite dangerous when dealing with "liquid nitrogen surprise" and other things that we find completely inedible.

You are all incorrect about Thermos`s, I''m afraid, The question was "how does it know?" and that assumes (correctly) that the Thermos is sentient, which it is. Under a super secret agreement with the government of the Galapagos Islands, a breed of tortoise was developed that looks just like what we know as a Thermos container. When liquids are placed inside, the tortoise feels the heat or cold of that liquid, remembers it and will use an electric charge (like an electric eel) to either heat iron rich cells to keep the liquid hot, or run a fantastic living refrigeration system in its stomach to cool the liquid if it is cold. A wonder of nature, the Thermos Tortoise, or Thertoise!

Inside a turtle ... mmmh ... I wonder on which of the turtle''s orifices we''re pouring and storing our precious cold or hot beverages. Yikes!.

Now I got I question, what if it is not cold, nor hot, but just precisely at the temperature of the turtle, will it now it has just been filled?

It may not know but it won`t matter since it won`t try to change the temperature if it doesn`t know it is filled.

The frog can eat as much as until it explodes and the pieces ends up at the coordinates you mentioned
