as far as i know, when you attack an enemy let say with 100 scouts and the defending army too has 100 scouts
you got the advantage of +10atk and he has +10def over you
so basically, according to the calculation on how an atk and def should be,we will both lose the same amount of army and thus, whats the point of having either the atk tech or def tech?
its the same afterall,isnt it?

Only if both are teched up the same, and assuming the attacker doesn't have any comms nearby.

Think of it as an "arms race." If you aren't at least caught up with your opponent you'll be at a disadvantage. But if you're out-teching him you'll have the advantage.

As to having it in the game, I think it's a great idea. It's another one of those things that forces you to decide (at least early on) where to put your limited resources and that's why this is a strategy game.

no,i didn`t mean to say that the tech are useless.
What i`m trying to tell is that does it makes any different if a stack of scouts has a 30atk,20def
and another stack with the same amount has 20atk,30def.
What`s the difference between this two stacks, afterall, the calculation made when any one of it attack the other, the casualties seems to be the same.
So,does that conclude that no matter you tech up the atk tech or def tech, its the same. And it should be decided with which resources you have most at that time?

The difference is when there are multiple units attacking. Having +20 to defense is more important when you are outnumbered. Having +20 to attack is more important when you outnumber your opponent (or are using ranged attacks).

Plus, if I remember correctly, you do 2% more damage for every extra point of attack, but each extra point of defense only gets you -1% damage. So while 30:20 and 20:30 may be the same, in the case of 30:19 and 29:20, the attacker would still do 1% extra damage (instead of 2%)

30 attack, 29 attack. 30 is one more point than 29. 30 is 5 points higher than 25.

ohhh,i thought that the point was converted to the percentage straight away,30points means 130% of attack.
thanks again for that knowledge mighty sage
