We can learn from each others mistakes, so let's post the worst mistakes you have ever made in your wol history.

In my current game I needed a new stack so I wanted to disband a small army to build a new one. Instead of killing a stack of 3 archers I killed one of 200.

I am sure there have been made worse mistakes.

attempting to flank anyway when I knew another player saw the force... ouch.
using marks for melee since I did not have anything else...
Man, I still cannnot believe I was so stupid.

Once I put to much trust in a NAP I made with a player. I was quite annoyed when as a result I lost the use of my secondary stone quarry (upgraded mind you) for 2 turns.

attacking a castle with lots of towers and protected and surrounded fully with two (!) walls... without any seige weapons, a bloody disaster...
the casualties were about 80000 for me and 10000 for him for about 4 turns then i moved back.

in a recent skirmish, i deployed about 80 cats out of barracks. only to find out they were in range of a 400
stack of ballistas in a tower. logged back in the next hour
and they were now about 10. very, very, costly. should have just deployed 5 and sized things up. i won't do that again.

One important lesson I can't seem to learn is; Check your opponent's Joining date to WOL!!!

I have made the same mistake three times battling people I thought were complete noobs with battle ranks to wipe the floor with, and was beaten for being careless and over-confident. Today I got beaten by Juxtaposer, who played a sound game and made good use of all my mistakes. Well done to him. The same happened to me with Bogoliubovski when he first returned.

These veterans know their moves and will surprise/punish any careless opponents!

Slacking on time is s no-no. Yes, it's only a game, but then, do you actually want to win it?

Despite this, I still have a bad habit of choosing an extra hour of sleep at the cost of about 10 hours turn time for WOL

Hey disturbed... the key isnt "never trust" but just dont trust a NAP to overule a ALLIANCE. Sorry I jumped you but you were attacking my 2 allys in one game and my 1 ally in the other. I had a NAP with you in both. I didnt want to break it but I couldnt let my allies hang in the wind could I?

I still condsider you a friend so dont take it to hard. it wasnt anything personal or planned.

Hey you doing ok in your part of the world? It looks a mess over there in that region. Im glad you seem to be ok though.

Yeap,i`m okie over here. As i said in the other forum,it doesnt really affect our country as much. And most of it were at the upper town of our country.
and geezz...wat makes u think i take it hard?

its just a game. But the point is gangbanging is not the way to do it,especially when i`m trusting u for letting my ballista lying around
the other map with mog,its a fair game 2 vs 2
but in the other, its 3 vs 1. I had already war the other two and they were strong,i asked for your help, you said that you didnt want to join in the fight because they were your ally, instead you jumped on me. That wasnt really nice.

errr.... guys, not that this is NOT interesting ... but this is the Strategy forum... You could start a whole new thread for that in the General Chit-Chat.

Here's some more strategy advice:
When there's a choice to have the back of your strong troops against mountains/forests in hard terrain area or a road... always go for the road. Getting out of the hard terrain against an opponent who knows how to use staggered ZOC is a b*tch.

I forgot some of my troops at the start location in a battle and i thought i should play aggressive. So i tried to attack and suddenly i saw my opponent has had much more troops.
