They want to play too I'll send them over to play with your archers My mace are gonna get bored just sitting outside your castle though. They will want to come inside and play While they are playing my troops can redecorate you castle too

| Posted : Friday, 22 October 2004 - 00:49 I thik what the slightly-malicious vets mean to say is, the scout rush is now famous and they usually have spearmen waiting for just such an eventuality
And if yo're leaving it as long as turn 20....pray you do not meet pikes/mace, either one is near-certain death for horsies |

| Posted : Friday, 22 October 2004 - 00:59 It's not that scouts won't work, and NEVER beat spears...it's just that scouts alone will probably get you killed |

| Posted : Friday, 22 October 2004 - 05:08 Yo D: this strategy is like a Starcraft strategy. Battlecruisers+bunkers might beat marines, but before you get 12 battlecruisers and enough bunkers, your opponent will have run you over with 4 groups of 12 stimpacked marines.
The idea of having archers in your castle and melee outside is nice, but it requires the opponent to do one thing in specific. |

Plus, there are plenty of ways to hammer 12 battlecruisers. Among them being lockdown, defiler plague, or my personal fave, psionic storm As for the risk of marines...well...that's why you choose your staging ground carefully, isn't it? But then...WOL isn't so different there |

| Posted : Saturday, 23 October 2004 - 11:37 Say, Dark, if you do try that strategy, make sure the melee troops are in a position where they can't be attacked multiple times. Put them where they can hit twice and the enemy can only hit once, like one hex back from the entrance to your castle. Don't leave them out in the cold. Then start working on some better ranged troops, too. You'll find that archers alone can't stop a determined attack, especially if your opponent has ballistae. They'll kill a few troops but won't wipe them out like you want. |

| Posted : Sunday, 24 October 2004 - 22:18 For scourge to work though you need to start with a distracting force to first draw the BC fire - otherwise you lose most of them just trying to get to the BC's. Personally, I always liked the stim'd marines under a dark swarm combo . Also good (though not quite as effective) is a good stack of devourers and mutalisks. |

| Posted : Sunday, 24 October 2004 - 22:26 yes well for stim'd marines to work you need medics and I was under the impression we were playing original.
Also if you send enough scourge they will get through. My personal fave though would be using ensare on them and then hitting them with psionic storm
I am thinking a Star Craft game needs to be organized and played once for kicks. |

| Posted : Wednesday, 27 October 2004 - 06:15 There isn't a set group of pieces that will ensure victory. One has to research intelligently, capture resources, attack victoriously and change strategy when necessary.
For any setup you want to mention, a person can come up with its natural enemy and crush it. The problem consists in having that particular piece when and where it's needed. Don't bring a spoon to a knife-fight! |
