| Posted : Monday, 4 October 2004 - 02:49 Fixes :
- Fixed attackers MaxDamage bug. Attacking troops no longer always do max-damage, and now deal min-max damage. - Fixed 0-pop bug. If a troop has less than 1 health it is considered dead.
Changes :
- Added 2 new Battle maps. - Renamed Novice to Battle games. - Renamed Practice to TimedBattle games. - Added non-ranked Practice battle games (1 of each map). - Battering Rams are now slightly cheaper, 1 movement faster and a bit stronger too. - All seige weapons take 40% EXTRA less damage from ranged troops.

| Posted : Monday, 4 October 2004 - 07:57 ok req, so are we saying that all troops were delivering MAX damage all the time?? And was that just in battles or in camps too? And do you have any idea how long it has been that way?
Oh and here is something else you can fix. 81+ ranked players cant play in Ultra games, why? Last Edited : Monday, 4 October 2004 - 08:00 | Sage DoCJoined 8/11/2002 Posts : 4070
| Posted : Monday, 4 October 2004 - 17:04 Eek...so many changes to my beloved battles.
Why did you have to kill the 4000 point, 2 player, turn based game? More than half of my battles were in those
Wee for the new battle maps! I gotta try those out.
*shudders at how random the max-damage bug is going to make battles from now on*
May I make a suggestion? Could we have unranked pick-your-own-troops games? Right now its just auto battles, and since you don't really want to PRACTICE auto battles...unranked practice games where you pick your troops would be good for trying out new strategies. | | ^ector Joined 11/11/2003 Posts : 987
| Posted : Monday, 4 October 2004 - 17:33 I agree with you sage (about your suggestion), but perhaps we should move this to the suggestion box? I'm not sure exactly how these notice boards work, but I was under the impression that we were supposed to post in them as seldom as posible... | | Requiem [R]Joined 3/02/2000 Posts : 4882
| Posted : Tuesday, 5 October 2004 - 20:32 Here are the battle maps as seen in the Map-Editor. in battles, the castle towers are gone, and walls are used instead of palisades

| Posted : Wednesday, 6 October 2004 - 19:09 because as i said, these images were using the Map Editor. Which is different to what you actually see in the Battles. | | frankenstein Joined 17/10/2002 Posts : 198
| Posted : Thursday, 7 October 2004 - 01:48 I love it! I never used the battering rams, only catapults, but I think I am going to use them now. | | Sage DoCJoined 8/11/2002 Posts : 4070
| Posted : Thursday, 7 October 2004 - 10:12 *reminds Frankenstein that battering rams will still be killed before they get anywhere near buildings...and even if they do get one shot in, will be killed immediately* | | CTDXXX Joined 19/11/2001 Posts : 5842
| Posted : Thursday, 7 October 2004 - 10:24 Then if they do, epect them to be 95% or 97% resistant instead of 90% resistant We argued this case to Req in IRC because rams almost always die(d) before getting to do ANYTHING. And if it's STILL the case...then, we'll just have to argue for the shielding to be higher | | Sage DoCJoined 8/11/2002 Posts : 4070
| Posted : Thursday, 7 October 2004 - 10:34 Not only against ranged troops....I agree, ranged troops against battering rams would be silly. But they're still vulnerable to melee troops, are they not? | | CTDXXX Joined 19/11/2001 Posts : 5842
| Posted : Thursday, 7 October 2004 - 11:01 Of course...but they'd be backed up on point of break-through, wouldn't they? If we need discuss it further, I'm sure we could have a thread for it someplace or a PM . For now, I think Req would probably like his notice board back | | linkasy Joined 1/08/2004 Posts : 652
| Posted : Tuesday, 2 November 2004 - 13:34 I'm tempted to just go 'yohoho and a bottle of rum' just to get it out of my system but these changes are good for me at least, and yes we should give Req his notice board back. *Linkasy grabs the notice board, wraps it up and posts it to Req*

| Posted : Tuesday, 9 November 2004 - 13:10 The new battle maps are great!
No more 3-4 hex scenarios and much more creative manoeuvring options.
In my last (auto)battle, it took me and my opponent 15 (!) turns to engage, for the possibilities and options and stationing of troops was so much excitement.
