Yes, another newer version

Ver.2.28 is MUCH faster at generating the map.
It also has better compression meaning the map refreshes use less bandwidth.

Just further to this...

I've added a "Load" value on the map next to the Turns. This shows the load time in milliseconds from when the map starts to download the map-data to when the map is completely drawn.

A test I did (thanks to sugarleo's Fast18 game), showed his mapsize go from 19k per refresh down to about 13k. thats some nice bandwidth savings.

and on my crappy P2 350 pc, the Generation time went from about 3 minutes, down to about 40 seconds. much faster.

Requiem....THE DIFFERENCE IS AMAZING!!
I was very happy to hear my Fast18 kingdom gave you what you needed to experiment on. Since you've looked...with 17 outposts and the upgrades(when I refreshed, it was almost the entire map)...I can see almost the entire field...only gets dark in the corners!! hehe/haha!!
It's wonderful to be able to see all of the other battles and movements of everyone else!! Of course, I'm raving about the outposts' upgrades...the refresh is awesome!! Before, it seemed like I waited forever....as my boss says, "You've hit a homerun, Requiem"!!!!

No, that's in the 2.26 thread, 'cuz that wasn't such a big update
I think it was something with the red square appearing.
It was an update on the same day as 2.26, so I think that was one of the reasons req didn't make a new thread about that.

Just so you know, if you make a map, there is no guarantee that you will get to PLAY it. That decision is up to Requiem.

i really need a 200x200 map though (map11 in the map editor). it would be nice to have a game that supports more than 12 players.

edit: ic -- but just imagine what would happen if every new player would do this ... we'd drown in spam.
