Duels are still a lot of fun, even with the changes that made battles sort of suck.

I suggest you get in a duel today! They are fair, reasonably short, and you can control a lot of factors about them, including double starting gold, fog of war on or off, friendly or regular modes.... yay!

Lots of maps to choose from, as well.

Yesiree Bob, you just can't have a better time than playing a duel!

Now we're playing one where we both chose our classes, he chose barbarians and I chose demons!

It's going to be a good one... he has ranged and I have flying!

It's gnarly, all right. I have taken the advantage in experience but he controls most of the map including all of the gold mines at the moment! He also has more tribute than I do.

I have been using mostly Scorpies and Neehts and he has the middle strength Barbs. His Crossbow Masters, while powerful, are getting their asses chewed because of the Demon's flying ability. It's tough to protect ranged against demons.

Protectors make Barbs next to invulnerable with the huge defense advantage they bestow. Summoners add distance to ordinary demons that start near them, it makes for some long distance flying moves.

It's a grim duel, indeed!

That ended in a stalemate of sorts.

I kept making Scorpies and SlowOx kept making Barbs and we just hacked away at each other all game. I ended up ahead on experience but SlowOx was in control of most of the board most of the time so he got a lot of tribute.

Duels are fun!

Now we're playing a duel with him as Demons and I chose Medieval. Lakes Of Fire Map, a small one that I would say favors flying troops.

We'll see.

The demons won that game. I have a strategy in mind for the next Medi/Demon encounter!

Somebody lose to gala! I am in a couple of games right now and don't want to begin another just yet, so please give ol' gala a duel. You'll lose horribly but you'll see what the master can do. You might even learn something.

I am beyond rusty. Defective even. Not sure I would be worth it.
