Should known torturers, who admit their crimes, which ARE crimes, be let go by the next administration, or should they face time for their real, actual, known crimes? Rendition, torturing people to DEATH, lying about it, covering it up, blaming privates instead of Presidents, it's all wrong as can be.

Obama has also committed crimes by shielding known and admitted law-breakers, letting go free, ostensibly to not cause "political turmoil" but really to shield high level government, military and business from paying for their crimes against humanity.

We no longer live in a nation where the laws are applied equally, if we ever did. If this sort of thing doesn't make your blood boil and demand accountability then we are in a totalitarian state and you don't care as long as you get to eat snack food.

Yes, but it wasn't supposed to be that way. that's why the USA was founded as a nation of laws.

Now, the wealthy and powerful just break any law they like and are not arrested, convicted and jailed as they should be. No one has any respect for the rule of law any longer and that means Oligarchy and Plutocracy, which really means Fascism.

However, you didn't answer the question, and since you aren't American you have no real say in the outcome, so I would like to hear from the vast group of Americans here at WOL.

Politicians are all in it together to some extent. The only possible exception is Trump and you can see what the media is doing to him if you pay any attention. Then again he might be just as bad as they are and wearing a businessman disguise...so, who knows. In any case, it appears we are screwed because the media picks our candidates and eventual winners for us. Nothing will change until we have a Convention of the States or perhaps a revolution, but that does not guarantee change for the better. Right now, our politicians (especially Hillary) have demonstrated that they are above the law and there is no balance of power left in our system of government. All the pieces that are supposed to hold the powerful executive in check (the Congress, the Courts, the Media, and the States) are broken right now. Thus, the powerful use their pen and phone or illegal home server and do what they want.
We will get through it in any case...it just sucks to watch the system founded on the rule of law that we fought so hard to create and defend turn into the rule of men (or women).

The US stopped being a nation of laws some time ago. Not holding Presidents to task for egregious violations of US and International laws is one sure sign that only poor people are subject to laws. I would point toward Bush and his administration as a blatant example of unpunished wrongdoing. Obama didn't pursue Bush, either, so he shares blame.

In any case, the American experiment is over and now we will find out what comes after it. Multiple countries where the US used to be? Smoking rubble in US cities with leaden water supplies? I doubt it will be better than what we had once. Twenty year olds with zero historical knowledge will be happy to be led into a war, helped by cold hearted arms merchants and professional generals of the war industries.
