The game is ongoing, so far no battles. It looks a bit one sided to me... what do you think, doodoomite?

I'm surprised that my other 2 guys haven't engaged anyone yet.

Only a cowardly clan would use all 3 of their guys to attack 1 person. Instead of each 1 picking an enemy.

A more strategic clan would have rushed offensively and forced the cowardly clan into three separate 1-on-1 battles instead of sitting back and letting one of their team-mates get ganged up on

I don't think you understand how clan games work, doodoomite. The idea is to use your clan to find ways to beat the other clan. It's not a one on one matchup and never has been. As Sage pointed out, your clanmates could have attacked us. Or they could be rallying around the obvious target, helping defend your nearly undefendable castle.

Do you have a clan forum to discuss your strategy with one another? I strongly suggest getting one if not.

We aren't being cowardly. We are being deadly. Perhaps the fellas in back of you are the more cowardly ones?

I didn't mean anything by my earlier statement,just venting. But of course you guys are right,I thought by now my clanmates would have ventured out further from their castle to see who's out there and where. That's what I do in every one of my games.

At the beginning of my games I send my scouts and archers in all directions. So that I know where everyone is on the board and to see how close my enemies are.

I feel bad for you and I want to help. First, clangames are definitely the only time gangbanging is truly ok at Waronline. That's the idea, to let people see how they do in multiple concurrent battles.

Get an offsite forum. If you don't know how, I can help. It's pretty easy to do and vital to winning. DoC shares screen shots and information about strategy there. Otherwise, how could you coordinate a really effective attack?

Figure out early where everyone is. Look at the map for weak spots. Your castle is in the worst position possible and you needed to have all three armies there fast to defend it. It would have been tough in any case, but without them you got creamed. Now we have an advantage over the two remaining players. Very hard to win when down by a full third of your possible strength.

I also advise that players don't go for master troops immediately in most cases. They are expensive and can be trapped and kept harmless.

No point at all in collecting resources or buildings other than gold in a clangame. One side is going to wipe out the other side and there aren't any tribute wins. It's a non-ranked game!

One small point, once you have government and empire you can tear down your marketplace for cash. The techs are still there.

More advice when I get to it. Fight on!

The X-men lasted until turn forty, which is an improvement over last time. There was more cooperation and so they lasted longer as a result. Doodoomite still got his butt handed to him by a single player, though. Individual skills are pretty important in clan games. I'd be happy to analyze your play with you, Doodoomite! Waronline is about helping others get better so we can beat up (where are they?) newbies.

I'd like to make a couple of observations about playing in clan games.

Since the object of the game is to wipe out the opposing clan it doesn't make sense to bother taking resources except gold. What good is tribute when your clanmates need every troop in the game to fight with?

Clan games are the legal form of gangbanging. It is honorable to help your clanmates. In all other games, this is considered poor sportsmanship, by most. Gang up, find weak spots and attack! No one will say you were playing unfairly.

Honestly, if people knew how much fun clan games are this site would be rockin'. The interplay between the players makes them a social event, even while losing. Tell your pals to join WOL and play clan games with us!

Good game and you are right on the points that you make. From now on I will only collect gold resources. As far as a offsite forum,I joined one about 5 years ago,but the mechanics of trying to use it was difficult. I will go back to that site to see if they have improved it and if I need some help,I will let you know. In this last clan game,I came out charging to early,I should have built more defenses around my castle and like you said,built more low level troops to defend with. Thanks.
