Req made it so that troops could move through allied troops. That is really cool for campaigns but it makes battles so lopsided as to be pointless. The person who gets the first strike wins. That's the game. So what is the inducement to move into range of the other guy? It is a losing move.
I have no idea what can be done to fix this since anything Req does to the mechanics of the game affect the entire game system, battles, duels and campaigns.
In the meantime, once I am out of the two battles I'm in I can't see wanting to join another, which is a shame since I'd like to get to 1,000 battles here.
Any ideas? |

Seriously though? I feel that regardless of what is done to it the system is slightly broken. Maybe Req should separate all the mechanics to only affect a particular game mode because otherwise you are looking at this issue in the face... and it aint going nowhere. |

You could move a percentage of your troops and attack, or use the total to move more troops farther.

| Posted : Sunday, 16 September 2012 - 00:11 I could think of a ways as well. Now what I think would be awesome... and only because I just experienced it for the first time, is if we could go back to a move system that did not require everyone to be on at the same time! I just got slaughtered thinking I had time to make my moves. :/ |

| Posted : Sunday, 16 September 2012 - 05:33 I find it best to make regular moves, not near the turn beginning. I don't want to have to worry about timing my moves with someone else!
In any case, that is off-topic, this is about battles, right? |

| Posted : Wednesday, 19 September 2012 - 09:51 Wow, battles really, REALLY suck nowadays! I am in two, and I am going to quit both of them since no one is going to move into first strike range, I am on turn 29 in one game and no fighting at all! In fact, my opponents are now tearing down walls to gain experience points, which in my opinion is pathetic. Too bad these great battle games are now screwed. I won't ever play another.

Battles shouldn't allow move-through troops, but since a change to any aspect of the game system affects the whole shebang that can't be done. Only duels are fair games in Waronline, Battles and Campaigns both have flaws. |
