In the old sticky I know there was an explanation by me to the changes made to ZOC, but I can't access the old sticky and inasmuch as I've forgotten how ZOC works now, can someone please refresh me on it?

The same, you can't move through two enemy controlled hexes in one any one section of a move.

If you were trying to get through two enemy troops parked one hex apart, you'd use your first move section to move next to them, the next to move would take you to the hex on the other side of them.

Probably the greatest change was the ability to move through your own troops. Remember how much planning a move on a front used to take? Now you can roll through front lines with repeated attacks, whereas one used to get stopped by the front troops having attacked and not able to move out of the way.

Ok, but I remember playing against Ice where I positioned my troops thinking I had him ZOCed when the next thing I knew he attacked me from the rear because there had been a change to the way ZOC used to work and the way it's been working for the past few years or so ...

guess I'll just hafta get the feel of it again.

PS:
You need a graphical explanation of ZOC in your sticky imho.

Down in 'Strategy and Tactics' there's a verbal explanation of ZOC by me
and there's also a previous graphical explanation by Mog.
My explanation to the best of my knowledge is of the present conditions of ZOC and my post was made in August of 2009, whereas Mog's post was made in January of 2007;

So if Mog's explanation in that post isn't up to date, I really didn't look close enough to determine, but I'm not saying that it isn't up to date either.

Arrrgh! I think there are now inconsistencies in that tutorial, I had forgotten it was still available.

You can always move one hex from where you are now, but that takes up one movement phase of the turn if it is controlled by an enemy.

Yes, I thought so and I only just vaguely recalled posting about ZOC down there myself;
So in other words where in your tutorial where you say:
"No" that you can't move in the old ZOC, in the newer, present ZOC it is possible to move one space using a movement phase.

Actually, and seriously, it stands for Zone Of Control, the area around a troop that it has influence over.
