I thought fishermen just wore caps if anything (unless it's cold, then a beanie)

maybe a bimini hat? though at this point, I can't really think of anything that accurately goes with all the answers we've had :x

Casting?

Yes fishing has head gear that protects your head, and a hat is a way of protecting your head during fly casting as well , I dont wear mine because of that though,

A fishing hat that holds flies or hooks?

i reckon a thinsulate hat for warmth ,and a head torch for night fishing....?

The protection is from the sun, and by doing so it lets me see my float ect better .
