Is it a statue of a king or queen? |

| Posted : Tuesday, 1 June 2010 - 18:18 I take "from" as meaning "made by" when speaking about art. I take into account that some people here use English as a second language and may not always be as comprehensible as one might wish. The question could have either asked "Was it made by someone who..." or "Is this a sculpture of ____".
I can't be held responsible for poorly crafted questions, I do my best to be fair and answer them with as much insight as I have into what might be meant by them. In this case, some people here want me to read minds and answer with more than is asked.
My answer did give information, just not what you wanted, sorry.
It is not a statue depicting someone who lived in Europe. (10th question)
It is not a statue of a king or queen, which is two questions, so you get a freebie there. (11th question)

| Posted : Saturday, 5 June 2010 - 02:32 I think, you went for the christ the redeemer statue that i mentioned in the last topic. But you did not go for the big version located in Rio de Janeiro.
You went for the Christ the redeemer statue in Maratea, Italy.
So is it the Christ of maratea statue? |

I was thinking of La Pieta too, but was kida put off by Mog's answer to Q15 or 16 where he said it contained "a character from the bible".
As far as I can remember, BOTH of the figures in La Pieta are mentioned in the bible..... |

| Posted : Monday, 14 June 2010 - 21:11 Yes, that's why I avoided saying that there were multiple figures, I wanted someone to ask about that.
It does contain a figure from the Bible, but it also has more than one figure... it can be tough to be literal and fair at the same time when answering questions. Sometimes an explanation just gives too much away so I stick with yes or no. Sometimes I have to explain my answer though, or more troubles appear down the road. |

Got to agree that it's one of the most stunning sculptures around now but who knows what ancient gems were lost to pludering hordes or the sands of time... |
