Hey this is Raistlinx, or Raist for short. I was looking for a browser based strategy game and came across this one and it looks pretty good. I was just looking for some info or maybe even a mentor to help me get started, I'm at work at the moment, and while I be able to play at work I want to devot some time at home to learning the tutorials so I haven't started those yet. So any and all information you guys could give me about how to get started, and how to learn how to play (without getting stomped) I would appreciate it.

Also, I have a good base of strategy games and have done well in others so certain tactics, and simple things I should already be comfortable with. And are both the medieval and demon's races equal?

Thanks,
Raist.

definately read the tutorials and refer often to the manual, which is up to date, for stats. Also check out the top thread in general chat "1. [ Sticky ] Getting Started At Waronline.net".

play the training game and jump in to the proving grounds right away so you get the feel how things move.

once you are used to how to move everything and how to build, you may want to look in the strategy forums, many useful threads there. Then when you get through all that and have any specific questions come back here, most people answer pretty quickly.

If your looking for mentors clans are a great place to start. Their over all purpose is to take in players, train them and compete against other clans so its a wealth of knowledge and a good source to test your new found muscle.

Playing alot of battles and duels will help your develope your skills to compete in the ultimate triathelon of war on line! The CAMPAIGN! (we need a more threatening name right?).

Duels and battles are also a great place to meet other more experienced players quickly.

Use the forum and shoutbox or irc for some chit chat and to get pointers on your game. When I started out I always pestered the people I played to let me know how I could improve my game and it paid off in the end.

After you get a few games under your belt feel free to ask me for a game if you want, I'd be glad to pass on some of tricks I've learned. Mog, No da vo, Harold and Hankyspanky are veterans and have always been very accomidating to new comers and are good sources of information (though if your not careful they'll trap you for hours in one of their old foggie rambles).

I don't think spanky is an old fogey, but you can usually find the rest of us sittin around the pot bellied stove with our feet restin on the dog's back, a chaw of bacci, playing checkers on top of a pickle barrel.

I don't think much has changed troop wise since the last time i played so the text tutorials i have stored in my log book should still be pretty helpful, since im back around for the foreseeable future id be happy to help you out with any problems you might come up against
