but it might be nice to know exactly how it would be abused
and then maybe it could be controlled somehow just like a traffic light controls an intersection
or is that "horribly" far-fetched.
PS: An FFA campaign is already goosed in that it can be "horribly" abused by multiple attackers
So what else is new?

Team mates and friends will support each other more, ganging up would be so much easier, and yet it brings little to the actual game.
Clan & team games, yes. Trading would be good. FFA, no.

| Posted : Thursday, 13 August 2009 - 18:44 I'm really not so sure ... yes in clan & team games it might be fine,
but why in an FFA game where everyone is supposed to be trying to win would a player pay trubute except to try to avoid being attacked;
unless he is already a multi and so the game would already be questionable.
If trading were allowed in such a questionable game, a cornered player might be able to gain help from non-adjacent players.
PS: I'm not trying to be argumentive, but sometimes the answer to cheaters might be more options. It doesn't seem to me that the FFA can be harmed ... if players are playing honorably, tribute might be able to buy time
and if they are ganging, the victim might be able to gain help that he otherwise wouldn't.
It just seems as broad as it is long to me.

| Posted : Thursday, 13 August 2009 - 19:12 while it could be used by a cornered player, it would be used far more often by players wanting to gang up.
plus, you would also get bigger player extorting smaller players.
opens a whole new and ugly can of worms I would rather avoid. | | Nebuchadnezer DoCJoined 9/06/2005 Posts : 3017

| Posted : Thursday, 13 August 2009 - 21:06 unless there is a major bug in this version (WoL), I'm just going to "let it ride".
