i just think they are to weak for cats now sometimes a cat can blow your wall away with just 1 hit

I agree, but I think cats should do less damage to buildings, or perhaps make them area affect, so that they do 40% of their damage to the target square and 10% to each surrounding square. (Even if that means hitting your own troops).

With Architecture it should take a single cat about 4-5 turns to destroy a wall.

With Architecture there should be a small chance that a cat doesn't destroy a pallisade in a single hit and only a lucky hit should destroy a barracks.

It should also be possible to "repair" buildings up to architecture spec after you have the right technology.

I like Hambone's idea except that your troops should not suffer any damage,if they happen to be close to the targeted structure.
