I've been complimented facetiously I think, but an inappropriate compliment can still be appreciated especially when it can be reciprocated.
In this game you are allowed ten guesses to get five of the letters and then you have another five guesses to guess the word.

If the five letters are guessed in less than ten guesses, you can have the balance of the letter guesses in addition to the five word guesses to guess the word.
Whoever guesses the word can then give a new word to guess.
This first word was sent to me in a private message and although I had heard it before, I admittedly had to use the dictionary to learn its meaning:

c-cop-o-y

PS:
If noone guesses it, just reveal it and then do another. If someone is honest, this word should get guessed fairly early.
Each space whether an underline or a dash represents a missing letter and guessing multiple letters will only count as one letter.

Also it's misleading to start with a multiple letter and only give one so I'll give the other of the starting multiple now.

No,
I gave you two of the nine total letters
and there are no es and no rs So you now have 8 letter guesses left.

Nope no S, but two Os
that leaves 6 more letter guesses.

Oops thanks Choirsinger for alerting me ...
you now have six more chances to guess 4 more different letters.

PS:
I edited my last post to make it a little easier (i.e. multiple letters only count as one letter).

it might almost be easy to read if you only used underscores actually...idk...at least for me, but i understand the way you had it set up...
so in a since this hangman?

and for some reason i want to say the word is coco roys, but it can't be because there aren't enough letters(unless a space counts) and you already said there wasn't any r.

so in a sense, if we were playing hangman, our guy would look something like
|......O
|...../|\
|........
with
|...../.\
really being all that is left, unless you want to add another body part and make it this:
|......|
|...../.\

There is a P
and now there are 5 more chances to guess 3 more letters.

Choirsinger,
you're just making me lose my place now ...
I forgot how to play hangman before you were born.

The underscores seem to make a solid line that is too difficult to count and when I used all dashes only one was displayed.

Choirsinger,
this is a *word* that you have to guess not complete the body of a hanging stickman ...
I don't understand your point ...
are you accussing me of being a plagiarist as well as a dinosaur?
I'm more of a wooly rhinoceros or even better a triceratops btw.

Here's how the underscores look:
c_______y
too difficult to use.

well you see that is why you put spaces inbetween
c _ _ _ _ _ _ _ y

i wasn't accusing you of being a plagiarist, if anything, since apparently this an older form of what i call hangman, (in which you have only some many guesses to guess the correct word[or phrase] as you have body parts. [normally including only the head, both arms, a body and both legs, but other body parts/features could be added. hands, feet{not including all 8 fingers and 2 thumbs or any toes} and facial features, eyes, mouth, nose, moustache, a hat maybe.]) we would be called the plagiarists.
and, correct me if i'm wrong, i thought a triceratops was a dinosaur?

Yes,
I thought of the spaces between, but didn't try it that way because after the dashes didn't display I thought maybe the underscores wouldn't also and so tried the way I did first.
Anyway it looks good the way you did it so that's fine if you want to use them that way.

PS:
A triceratops is a three-horned dinosaur that seems to have been the forerunner of the rhino and is often depicted as being able to take out Tyrannosaurus rex and so again you are right that a triceratops is a plant eating dinosaur better not to have gotten mad.

However, it's not my intention to frighten children.

come now neb, we're playing a game, all nice like together.

don't bait TR, it'll just turn this peaceful game into a meaningless, noisy discordant mess... a din if you will.

TR, roll out the "H", ok?
