Wouldnt it be easier if the cost was counted in percent of the transaction? Now 200 (with the highest techupgrade) is deducted from each sale of 100. Selling 5000 or so tribute is very slow It would be better to deduct 10% right of the total of gold you recive no matter how many tribute sold.

It would be more convienient, yes...

How about we find the actual formula for gold to tribute ratio...

I haven't really pored over this, but...

Gross profit: Tribute traded x 20.
Net profit: Gross profit x efficiency rate - taxes.
Taxes: Inefficiency (400 or 200 gold depending on techs) x number of transactions.
Number of transactions: Tribute traded / 100 x active marketplaces.

So, based off that...

If Tribute = T, efficiency = E, marketplaces = M and taxes = Y and gold = G:

G = 20TE - (YT / 100M).

For 500 tribute sold at a rate of 80% with 400 tax and 2 marketplaces...

G = 20x500x0.8 - 400x500/100x2
G = 8000 - 200000/200
G = 8000 - 1000
G = 7000.

Which basically equals 2 lots of 200 tribute being sold for 5600 and 1 lot of 100 tribute sold for 1400.

As for tribute being sold in groups less than a round 100, well, Req should be able to just add 1 and truncate in there somewhere to ensure the number of transactions is always rounded up...

Anyway, Req's planning an overhaul of tribute soon anyway, so it probably won't matter for long.

build 4 more markets and you will be able to sell 500 tributes in one shoot and pay only 200 gold for that

really
Still, building 50-100 markets seems a bit ridiculous too doesnt it?

building 50-100 markets is not feasible.

and yes, an idea could be to limit the markets based on the number of castles or so...

but the fixed taxes for each transaction is real thing which happens everywhere on real markets

moreover, having percentage on sales lets you having no decision/option regarding this issue.

What you need to add to darkguy's great analysis is the build cost of the additional marketplaces - they ain't free!
