| Posted : Sunday, 6 July 2008 - 09:47 unless I'm badly mistaken, captain planet is a super hero who fights pollution and cooperations. But we already know its not a super hero from a previous question.
so think of comic book characters that aren't super heroes.
Edit: also,I disagree with mog's definition of super hero (I believe that batman is a super hero, on account of his fighting of super villains, for good, in a costume, and being taken seriously. - also, they put him in the justice league, which is strictly super heroes only, plus perhaps comic relief depending on which version you're watching, and batman is NOT the comic relief.)
But, while I disagree with it, it is useful for the purposes of this game - it limits superheroes to people with super powers only, and, unless I'm going to far with this connection, treats the man and the mask as one. I.E. if batman isn't a super hero, than neither is Bruce. and if Superman IS a superhero, so is Clark kent... I don't know if mog would have made us guess twice for multiple personas of the same character, but I doubt it... and though "batman = not super hero" doesn't prove this second conjecture, it seems to support it somewhat.
gah... hope people understand that... I can't clarify, it seems muddled of thought a bit, but I'M LATE FOR WORK! so good luck guys.

and is not Captain Planet (16)
17th question?
By the way, I would not call a character's secret identity a super hero. They are not using their super powers while being the secret identity. It may be nit picking but that's the way I roll.
Batman may be a hero but has no super powers therefore he is not a superhero. Feel free to disagree, but that's also the manner in which I roll. | | Choirsinger Joined 19/12/2007 Posts : 617

18th question? | | ^ector Joined 11/11/2003 Posts : 987
| Posted : Monday, 7 July 2008 - 00:35 ok people, we need to colaborate. these last 3 questions really need to count, so I'm gonna start listing all the characters I can think of that this guy might be, but first, here are the qualifiers that need to be met.
1. U.S. comic book character. 2. has a animated t.v. show. at least 1, about him. 3. not a super hero (no super powers is all this means. he might still be a heroic figure) 4. human male.
those are the important qualifiers. there's some extra stuff to take into consideration down below the list.
batman, superman, and captain planet are specific guys who've already been guessed. on to the list.
*******Guys who fit the qualifiers (maybe)********
-Tarzan -all the men in Johny Quest, especially Johny -Homer or Bart Simpson (I feel the show could be said to be equally "about" either of them, though the few comic books I've read tended to focus on Bart.) -Richy Rich -Shaggy or Fred from Scooby Doo (this seems unlikely, because of question #12)
************************
(to be continued, just gonna post what I got so people know that I'm tryin to get a group effort goin here. post ideas if you can, but not as questions. infact, it might be safest to specify that they are NOT questions. )
Things to consider: 1. important to note: he is a comic book character, and has a t.v. show, but mog was only asked if he was these things, not which he was FIRST. so... we can't rule out comic book characters who came from another media than comic books first, though it seems more likely to me the way the questions progressed. but we can't count on anything.
2. mog's answer to question #12 needs to be looked at carefully. Does it have a T.V. show? "Yes, it has had at least one tv show about it. (12)" I was thinking about asking if the character was peripheral, a mundane helper type, or guy to be rescued - or some kind of villain. this seems unlikely though, as mostly T.V. shows are made "about" the main good guy, super or not. We can probably assume that guy's who's names don't appear on the title of the show/ book are not considered to have the show/book "about" them, but only probably.

| Posted : Monday, 7 July 2008 - 03:36 Just so I don't get yelled at, I want to correct an assumption that has been made. I would say that a secret identity hasn't got super powers, the actual superhero does. I know that is kind of weird but the way the questions have been framed I sort of ended up going that way.
I'll tell you that the answer is a secret identity and that the hero he turns into has super powers. That ought to be enough to get a good try at getting it, so no complaining after this is over if you can't get it!
I challenge others to make a 20 questions game here and see how hard it is to answer questions without telling too much or too little!
