Somtimes taking large steps isn''t everything. If you go too far, you''ll likely become attacked. Sometimes the best thing to do is to take small steps, then ambush an enemy that way.

Not gone, but less flexible.

People still get ambushed.
Think of it this way:
Sometimes, you think ur getting ambushed. For ranged units, stay behind a wall, and move your melee units up front (ex: A marksmen stack in the rear and a knight stack in the front) simply move smaller units out of the way, and you''ll be able to take a castle.

So, your proposal is not to attack until turn 40 or later (actually much later) when you can have knights and marks in stacks...and hope the other player has been sitting there not producing anything but small basic units near his castle? It might work if you find the right opponent.

Oh, don''t forget, you''ll also need commandeers to take the castle too.

I think he is referring to battles ...

Then why does he want to take a castle? That would be odd.

You could of course be right guer! Considering that he has only played one battle, and quit that, he might not know you don''t need to take a castle in battles.

He will catch on as he plays the game more.

Hwatta, i''ve been at 1 game, but still get ambushed. Recklessness could mean trouble, so only move 2-4 spaces, close the map, then reopen it and, if available, attack.

Or, you could click the little `refresh` button on the lower left of the map screen after every troops you move...

Medic has a right general idea in battles... It''s more of have a stack or two that you send to scout ahead of your main force. This unit/s has a tendancy to be killed and not do much more than scout, but the knowledge of where your opponent is can save you from losing many more important units.
