It's brilliant! Put the archers BEHIND the melee? This will completely change the way the game is played!

That's what I call 'Pure Moderator Tact/Stuff' (PMT/PMS).

Another good strategy is to attack with your archers from more than one space away.

Lord Vampire, that is a common way to play. However, most better players tend to group their troops rather than break them into parts that can be attacked separately.

Personally I like to put my ranged in towers behind a wall of mace, but then I guess I'm just odd like that...

He has only battled, so that is what this strategy is about.

Lord Vampire, unless you are playing a large battle scenario like World War 3, you'll find that flanking leaves you less able to defend your center. Then, while you are trying to run around the sides the enemy will break through your weakened front and get at your ranged troops. Also, flanking troops can usually be held off while the enemy concentrates nearly his full force on your center.

Speaking of that is there anycchance tha they will get a larger scenario going any time soon. I always find WW3 to be way to crowded to fully exploit the numbers of men....

You have 3 different map options depending on which scenario you choose.

Here's what they all look like (for best viewing, be sure to hover your cursor over the map and "expand" the map to full size when the button appears):

Scenarios 1 and 4 use Map-1

Scenarios 2 and 5 use Map-2

Scenarios 3 and 6 use Map-3

These images show the castles filled with terrain because they were done in the Map Editor. The castles will appear as normal grey (150% travel) in the games.
