| Posted : Tuesday, 28 August 2001 - 09:29 Those using the Local Downloads, will have to download the latest version which contains important changes/updates.
Its about 500k, but will save you alot of ongoing bandwidth. |

| Posted : Wednesday, 29 August 2001 - 20:15 I might take out 1 of them, and reduce their gametime to about 5-6 days each. perhaps even less.
It will be pointless trying to "Play" in them. They are there to learn the ropes.
What we dont want is newbies joining main games, not knowing how to play, then getting destroyed by other players, and so never come back, or simply just give up and become inactive.
Bashing newbies is not fun, skillfull or desired.

| Posted : Thursday, 30 August 2001 - 20:13 In clan games you would fight for your clan against other clans, meaning you are allied to your clan mates when you join the game.
If Reqy enables us to start our own games, with our own rules etc.., I dunno how he would do that but still, that''s what the personal games section is for. |

| Posted : Friday, 31 August 2001 - 08:57 I think that newbie games could be longer...
Don''t see any problem of newbies playing a full game between them.
If someone wanna kill me come to The Tournament ) |

| Posted : Sunday, 2 September 2001 - 09:34 nah, the Beginner''s games are just to test stuff, not for full games.
I might increase speed of Tournament, and will increase length of most games too. No harm in that.
Plus, I just released map Ver.2.07. Check the DevNews for details. |

| Posted : Sunday, 2 September 2001 - 19:51 Yup. Local Downloads users will need a new download.
However, I have added a new link to the single file that has changed so that you dont need to download the whole thing again |

| Posted : Thursday, 6 September 2001 - 06:10 If I could make a suggestion for the beginner''s games:
Make it an ongoing game, where your acount is automatically deleted after 10 days. Everytime someone starts new in the game an area in a 15 square radius gets it''s lifespan restored to 100%.
This way everyone who signs up (which could be near the end of the round at the moment since they don''t understand the time indicators yet, I still haven''t got em figured out anyway has 10 days of fun, without landing on a drained land with no hope, and towards the end of their 10 day period they''ll get a nice ranking making them feel good and sign up again.
Since the flow of players will be constant you get new players next to players who have been playing a couple of days, so the experience is diverse. |

| Posted : Friday, 7 September 2001 - 06:20 This is pretty difficult to do, plus the map and scoreboards would be swamped with dead players, etc.
Not really worth it.
I''ve now removed 1 beginners game, so there are only 2 left, both of which now run for only 6 Days.
I have also disabled the Fast 1&2 games. There were too many games at this stage, and these were the least used and not very different from the others anway.

| Posted : Thursday, 10 January 2002 - 12:55 Increase the speed of tournaments? You could do a slow tournament, a 2 cycles one and another with 4 cycles by day, for example. That way everybody could choose. |
