Mostly, yes...as long as they are in a good formation.

One thing you might notice about Autobattles is that the highest type troop ever seen is the Knight*. Many players keep their Knight back with the ranged troops and wait for the other player to leave his Knight in a position to be attacked by their Knight. Since Knights take no retaliation, it is effectively a free shot on this powerful troop.Often this is combined with other melee attacks and ranged, which can cut a 10 pop stack of Knights down to almost, or even, nothing in one turn.

This leaves you with a full strength Knight which can do major damage for the rest of the battle, or until it is wiped out anyway.

*I really do think there should be an occasional Heavy Cavalry in autos. If they are for training players to use the troops, the HC should be in there too.

i'll tell you the best one...use all catapoults, it works well

p.s. thats a joke, please don't really use it

also, through doing this you most likely are going to get too many good starting troops. i'd say you should just try out as many as you can as i dont think to many of the better players around here would say what they use because others could use it against him. i guess that may just be me, i dont know

C'mon killer!
The all catapult strategy is no longer a joke and you know it! It is now regularly used in any campaign game with lokibolp as the most effective way to crush his "all palisade" castle defence. Absolutely vital to keep this option in your inventory!!!

You are, of course, correct in regard to battle games though.
Cheers,
H.

I think Lokibolp needs his "Bolp" removed.

well most outo battles ive been in and thats quit a few come down to fodder (true for most battle outo or not)

you will usaly only have a very small number of powerfull troops and a tone of smaller units well its normale practice to take out the big guys first in most outo games unless his big units are in the front line i try to take out the fodder first
if you manage to destroy most of his small units well he hacks away at your biger units you will soon find yourself abial to use zoc and tripl hits against him
or in the case of middi be at his ranged units well yours are still protected

spearmen as fodder. flank to draw his attention away attack the weakend lines and take out his rear with your ranged.

why flanking doesn't work most of the time... it's going to take you 2 turns to flank...the first turn I'm just going to continue attacking your frontline and your marks 2nd turn I'm going to shift 1 more unit back to the area your flanking with, with some fodder, so say you flank with 2 falcs. I shift 3 mace up with fodder. Or if you have hc I'll shift a knight up with an hc and fodder. Meanwhile my marks still hit your frontline/archers. Now you no longer have the advantage not only did I hit your flank first, but I'd use zoc to ensure you couldn't reach my marks...flanking most of the time is a bad idea. If you do it, be certain it will suceed. (again this is all my personel opinion and in no way represents any other battlers)

also to flank you take units away from your front line, so that means my front line is at full compacity while yours is weakened, never forget that

true but if you have your front lines in another part you can bring your flank from where they dont see it mog and i tried that. i didnt see the people he had i only saw and attacked his main force.

always move your troops to where you can view the whole field...if you can't view the whole field use fodder as a scout...it's better to lose fodder than to be taken by suprise from behind :-)
